SASSA payment dates for August 2026

SASSA pays grants over four days in August 2026: the Older Persons Grant on Tuesday 4 August, the Disability Grant on Wednesday 5 August, the Child Support Grant on Thursday 6 August, and all other grants on Friday 7 August. Beneficiaries whose grants are under review are also paid on 7 August — not in the normal three-day cycle.

How do I know if my grant is under review?
SASSA notifies selected beneficiaries by SMS, using only the cellphone number on its database. If your number has changed and you did not update it, you will not receive that notice — and a later-than-usual payment in August may be the first sign. Check for an SMS, then read the grant review guide for the documents to take with you.

- Allow 2–3 business days — SASSA releases the payment, then your bank posts it.
- Check whether your grant is under review, which moves you to 7 August.
- Still nothing? Work through payment not received or call 0800 60 10 11.
SRD grant recipients
