SA Benefits is not affiliated with SASSA, the Department of Social Development, or the South African government. We are an independent information service. We cannot access government systems, and we cannot approve, decline, pay or expedite any grant.

What this site does

We explain how official processes work, what statuses and decline reasons mean, and what else you may be entitled to — then we hand you to the official channel to act. For example, our status check guide walks you through using SASSA's own portal; it never asks for your details itself.

Official channels

Applications, status checks and appeals happen only on official government platforms: srd.sassa.gov.za (SRD applications and status), srd.dsd.gov.za (appeals), sassa.gov.za, or in person at SASSA offices. All are free. Anyone charging you for these services is defrauding you — see you never pay to apply.
