SA Benefits is an independent website that helps South Africans check their grant status, understand what a status or decline actually means, and discover every other benefit they may be entitled to — grants, free basic services, food support, education relief and more. It is free to use and not affiliated with SASSA or the South African government.

What we do

• Tell you your status — clear, honest walkthroughs of the official status-check channels, and plain-language explanations of every result.
• Tell you what it means and what to do next — every status, decline reason and problem page ends in one concrete next step.
• Tell you what else you can claim — most South Africans who qualify for free basic electricity, school fee exemptions or food support never claim them. We connect the dots.

What we are not

• We are not SASSA and we cannot see, change or speed up your application.
• We never ask for your ID number and we never store personal information. Anything that asks for your ID number and a fee is a scam.
• We never charge for anything. Applying for, appealing or checking a grant is always free — on this site and with SASSA itself.

How this site is built

The site is being built in four public phases, starting with the SRD grant — the benefit most South Africans interact with monthly. Every figure we publish carries a visible verification date, and our verification policy and public correction log explain how we keep it honest.
