Frequently asked questions
How often should I check?
Once or twice a month is enough — after the middle of the month for the outcome, and near month-end for the pay date. Statuses update on SASSA's schedule; checking hourly changes nothing.
My status is Approved but there's no money in my account.
A pay date on the status is when SASSA releases payment; banks can take 2–3 days to reflect it. Longer than that: payment not received.
Will applying again create a duplicate problem?
No — if a completed application already exists, the system tells you; if not, the new application simply becomes your record.

I applied years ago and never checked. Is it still there?
Applications from earlier SRD cycles may have lapsed. If no record is found and you still qualify, apply fresh — it takes under 10 minutes.

My appeal was approved but no money arrived.
Approved appeal months pay with your next normal cycle, and require working payment details — check bank details pending if you see that status.
Can I add documents to a lodged appeal?
No — the process has no uploads. The Tribunal relies on the databases, which is why correcting the source record matters more than paperwork.
