“No record found” on your SRD status check: the diagnosis
On this page (3 sections)
“No record found” almost never means your application vanished. It means the ID number and phone number you just entered don't match any application together. One of four things is wrong — work through them in order below; most people find it in the first two.
The four causes, in order of likelihood
- A typo in the ID or phone number
Re-enter both slowly. The 13-digit ID is easy to mistype on a phone keyboard, and the check fails silently on a single wrong digit.
- You applied with a different phone number
The check needs the number on the application, not your current number. Think back: an old SIM, a family member's phone, a community worker's number? If you can't access that number, use the change phone number process.
- The application was never completed
If you closed the browser before the final confirmation — or the network dropped — no application exists. There is no penalty: simply apply again properly and make sure you reach the confirmation screen.
- You applied via WhatsApp and the link wasn't finalised
WhatsApp applications require completing a verification link sent to you. If that step was missed, the application is incomplete — restart via WhatsApp (082 046 8553) or do it on the portal.
Frequently asked questions
Will applying again create a duplicate problem?
No — if a completed application already exists, the system tells you; if not, the new application simply becomes your record.
I applied years ago and never checked. Is it still there?
Applications from earlier SRD cycles may have lapsed. If no record is found and you still qualify, apply fresh — it takes under 10 minutes.
