The SRD application requires no documents, no certified copies and no uploads. You need only your 13-digit ID number, a cellphone number you control, and optionally a bank account in your name. SASSA verifies everything else directly against government databases.

Why there are no documents
SRD is database-verified: SASSA checks your identity with Home Affairs, your income with the banks, and your other support with UIF, NSFAS and payroll systems — monthly, automatically. Frequently asked questions
Do I need proof of address?
No. SRD has no address requirement — you can apply with no fixed address.
Do I need to be at a SASSA office?
No — SRD is the one grant designed to be fully remote. Offices can help if you're stuck, but nothing requires visiting one.
