Cancel your SRD application on srd.sassa.gov.za under the cancel option, verified with your ID and registered phone number. Cancel when you no longer qualify — you found work or your income now exceeds R624/month. Cancelling protects you: continuing to receive a grant you don't qualify for creates a repayable debt and a fraud flag that follows you into every future application.

Keep the confirmation. Payments stop from the next cycle; months already approved and owed still pay out.
Frequently asked questions
Can I cancel just one month?
You don't need to — a month with income above the threshold declines itself under the means test. Cancellation is for permanently no longer qualifying.
Does cancelling affect my other grants?
No. Cancelling SRD has no effect on a Child Support Grant you receive for a child, or any future grant application.
